The Italian Pavilion is the professional workspace that represents la casa italiana at all major European Festivals – Venice, Cannes, Berlin – for industry figures, Italian and non-Italians alike, who work with the country’s cinema artistically and professionally. For the duration of the 77th Venice International Film Festival, the Italian Pavilion followed social distancing protocols, adopting a hybrid approach which added a new digital version of activities to the established venues of the Hotel Excelsior on the Lido. Alongside the areas of the Salone Tropicana dedicated to meetings and one to one slots, the Italian Pavilion offered an online version of all the activities taking place at the venue during this year’s edition.
WHO WE ARE
This was possible thanks to the studio set up in the Pavilion which recorded all the activities and used streaming technology to live broadcast.
www.italianpavilion.it provided video recordings of all the events, promotional materials available for download and a schedule of the activities taking place. Even more importantly, it was possible to attend any event remotely. This online version made its impressive debut at the most recent Marché du Film in Cannes, hosting various professional meetings at the festival site.
