Screening with debate of the short films “Aria” and “Libera,” written and played by actress Barbara Sirotti and directed by Brace Beltempo. These two chapters explore gender violence through the true story of Sirotti herself, who survived a violent relationship in which she nearly lost her life. Previously screened at the 2022 Rome Film Festival, the movies have been awarded at several festivals all over the world, including the 2024 Cannes 7th Art Awards.

In both chapters, the main character, trapped in a time loop with no escape, finds herself in a sort of “dystopian reality,” where events are interconnected according to an emotional, not rational logic. The narrative layers alternate themselves in an unusual way, in a suspended time like the post-Covid-19 lockdown era. A labyrinth of time, events, dreams, projections, nightmares and memories.

Four of the most talented voices from italian cinema and television took part in “Aria” and “Libera”: the dubbers Luca Ward, Francesco Pannofino (who plays a role), Benedetta Degli Innocenti and Alex Poli.
