Over the last decade indie animation has enjoyed a resurgence of interest. As a champion of the export market, its production volume has increased and it has also carved out a place of choice in the selections of the major international festivals. This revival can be explained by a combination of factors, including developments in tools, VFX and technology, the arrival of new financial partners and the emergence of unexpected distribution opportunities.
As a result, more and more fiction professionals are taking the plunge and embarking on the adventure of producing animated feature films. With works that have already been selected for prestigious events such as Venice, Berlin, Cannes, Sundance and Locarno, not to mention the Oscars, four leading producers will discuss the specific features of this still little-known genre.
They will be giving exclusive presentations of their latest film projects, sharing their experience and discussing the challenges facing the animation industry in terms of production and distribution.
