The past year has seen an increase of environmental sustainability in the film and audio-visual industry, demonstrating raised awareness and attention: Italy’s Film Commissions have begun adopting Trentino Film Commission’s Green Protocol; AFIC festivals shared guidelines for organising events that respect a range of criteria including material type, catering, mobility etc.; the Ministry of Culture actively participated in the debate promoted by the Ministry for Ecological Transition about adopting CAM (Criteri Ambientali Minimi) Events as required by the PNRR (Piano Nazionale di Ripresa e Resilienza), which provides significant investment to Cinecittà, also committed to promoting a green agenda.
These are the issues up for discussion at the panel organised by Cinecittà and Italy for Movies, the web portal for Italy’s shooting locations and production incentives, which has recently incorporated a green filter to facilitate searches for environmentally-themed news and updates and a green area in the Film Commission section for publishing activities and agreements that encourage sustainable audio-visual production.
