FOCUS ASIA
UDINE

Italy returns to Focus Asia, the industry section of the Far East Film Festival, taking place in Udine from April 27 to 29, 2026, with a delegation composed of six production companies: Albolina Film, I Wonder Pictures/All at Once, Piano B Produzioni, Redibis Film, Solaria Film and Volos Films Italia.
roducers will take part in exclusive workshops designed to explore the dynamics of Asian markets, offering strategic insights and opportunities for direct exchange with key industry decision-makers. The aim is to foster global collaboration and build new connections between Asia and the rest of the world.
Europa Distribution, the leading European network of independent distributors, will once again be present in Udine with more than 15 distributors for the third edition of the Distribution Lab. Following the success of its first edition in 2025, Europa International – the European network of sales agents – will also participate for the second consecutive year, further strengthening a significant partnership. In this context, Focus Asia will host the Sales Lab, an initiative dedicated to direct market access and to the analysis of sales strategies tailored to a fragmented and constantly evolving Asian industry.
Focus Asia 2026 further reinforces its forward-looking approach by combining market analysis with new forms of storytelling through two high-level panels. A box office study will provide a data-driven overview of the global performance of Asian films, while a session dedicated to vertical content will explore the rise of micro-dramas and their impact on emerging models of intellectual property and digital distribution. In line with an “all genres” approach, the programme also launches a new collaboration with Anima Mundi, introducing a think tank on the evolution of the animation sector between Europe and Asia.
Thanks to the support of CCIDAHK (Hong Kong), Telefilm Canada, Film Development Council of the Philippines, TAICCA – Taiwan Creative Content Agency, KOFIC – Korea Film Council and VIPO – Visual Industry Promotion Organisation (Japan), the Project Market and Far East in Progress will also ensure the participation of a significant number of selected teams.
The Italian presence is coordinated by the International Department of Cinecittà, as part of the activities carried out on behalf of the Directorate General for Cinema and Audiovisual of the Ministry of Culture.
