ITALIAN SCREENS presents in New York two Italian films, co-produced by Rai Cinema, of particular interest to the international audience: Gloria! by Margherita Vicario and Posso entrare? An Ode to Naples by Trudie Styler.

The screening of Margherita Vicario‘s film, Gloria!, will take place on Tuesday, July 16 at 6:00 PM at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s Robin Williams Center. fter the screening, the director will answer questions from the audience.

n her film, Margherita Vicario tells the story of women musicians in early 19th century Venice, with an almost entirely female cast featuring Galatea Bellugi, Carlotta Gamba, Veronica Lucchesi (La Rappresentante di Lista), Anita Kravos, Paolo Rossi, Elio (Elio e le storie tese), Natalino Balasso, and Vincenzo Crea.

On Wednesday, July 17 at 6:30 PM, Posso entrare? An Ode to Naples by Trudie Styler will be presented at the MoMA Museum of Modern Art. The documentary film and the director will be introduced by Rajendra Roy, chief curator of film at MoMA. After the screening, there will be a discussion with the audience led by American actor and director John Turturro.

Trudie Styler presents a documentary that narrates the contrasts of beauty and pain, light and darkness of a unique city like Naples, a city of culture and creativity, but also of chaos and criminal abandonment. Letting the people tell their own stories, the director collects numerous testimonies in the film from those who live in the city, including Don Antonio Loffredo, Francesco Di Leva, Roberto Saviano, Jorit, enriched by a musical performance by Sting.
