As part of the ITALIAN SCREENS program and as a preview of the Dolcevita-sur-Seine festival, FolleMente, the must-see Italian comedy of the year, will have an exclusive premiere at the Publicis Cinéma on the Champs-Élysées on Thursday, June 12 at 7:30 PM.
Director Paolo Genovese and the film’s two leads, Pilar Fogliati and Edoardo Leo, will be in attendance—a magnetic duo in a comedy that is both tender and effervescent.
Following Perfect Strangers, Genovese delivers a new comedy that is both sweet and wild, winning over Italian audiences.
Piero (Edoardo Leo), a philosophy professor freshly separated, meets Lara (Pilar Fogliati), a strong-willed furniture restorer.
But they’re not alone in this story: inside their heads, eight emotions—funny, romantic, eccentric, or rational—pull the strings. An Italian-style Inside Out.
The cast is outstanding: Claudio Santamaria plays Eros, Emanuela Fanelli embodies Trilli (the personification of irony), Maria Chiara Giannetta is Scheggia (a rebellious, edgy spark), and Rocco Papaleo is Valium (absolute serenity). Claudia Pandolfi (Alfa) and Marco Giallini (The Professor) orchestrate their thoughts, while Maurizio Lastrico and Vittoria Puccini play a modern-day Romeo & Juliet.
Paolo Genovese explains: “This comedy explores the inner conflicts we face when making important decisions—the kind that can make our lives wonderful or unbearable: matters of the heart.”
It’s a romantic comedy with a seemingly classic structure but a completely fresh perspective: the inner workings of the two protagonists’ minds.
