23 – 24 January 2025

DE ROME À PARIS

On January 23, Italian cinema will welcome 2025 with the GALA ITALIAN SCREENS on the Champs Elysées, featuring the French premiere screening of DIAMANTI, directed by Ferzan Özpetek. This special event, organized by Cinecittà for the Directorate for Cinema of the Italian Ministry of Culture, will precede the traditional professional meetings between Italian and French producers, sales, and distributors at De Rome à Paris, scheduled for Friday, January 24.

At 7:00 PM, at the Publicis Cinema, Ferzan Özpetek, accompanied by actresses Luisa Ranieri and Jasmine Trinca – two of the lead stars of the film’s impressive cast—will meet the audience in the Ville Lumière.

The Gala Italian Screens, partially open to the public (for tickets, visit https://www.publiciscinemas.com/films/1000006667-diamanti/), will also serve as an opportunity to promote the richness and originality of Italian cinema, as well as the tax incentives supporting distribution and co-productions.

SYNOPSIS

A director calls upon his favorite actresses, those with whom he has worked and those he has loved. He wants to make a film about women but reveals little: he observes, draws inspiration, and lets his imagination take flight, eventually transporting them to another era, a past where the sound of sewing machines fills a workplace run and populated by women, where men have small, marginal roles, and cinema can be told from another perspective: that of fashion. Amidst loneliness, passions, anxieties, heartbreaking absences, and unbreakable bonds, reality and fiction intertwine, as do the lives of the actresses with the lives of their characters, competition with sisterhood, and the visible with the invisible.

A production by Greenboo Production, Faros Film, and Vision Distribution, in collaboration with Sky.
