SHANGHAI

Following the success of the editions in Beijing in 2023 and 2024, ITALIAN SCREENS arrives in Shanghai for the first time, partnering with the 27th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) to present seven new Italian films in preview. These films showcase the pluralistic, innovative, and deeply human face of contemporary Italian cinema: Madly by Paolo Genovese; Diamonds by Ferzan Özpetek Napoli-New York by Gabriele Salvatores; The Negotiator by Alessandro Tonda; Feeling Better by Valerio Mastandrea; The Story of Frank and Nina by Paola Randi; and Vermiglio by Maura Delpero.

The initiative was introduced on Thursday, June 19, at 5 PM in the press room of the Crowne Plaza, with the participation of Roberto Stabile, Head of International Department for the Directorate General for Cinema and Audiovisual (DGCA-MiC) at Cinecittà; Chen Guo, Managing Director of the Shanghai International Film and TV Events Center; Li Na, a Chinese film distributor; and director Paolo Genovese.
