SCANORAMA SUMMER

As part of Fare Cinema, the initiative dedicated to promoting contemporary Italian cinema around the world, the Embassy of Italy in Lithuania and the Italian Cultural Institute in Vilnius present a special film programme within Scanorama Summer. This year’s edition is further enriched, for the first time, by the participation of Italian Screens, a project promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Culture.
As it travels across Lithuania, Scanorama Summer transforms each stop into an opportunity for audiences to experience outstanding European cinema. More than a travelling film festival, it brings local communities together through screenings, discussions and shared cultural experiences, helping to expand access to quality cinema throughout the country.
Three special screenings of Sweetheart, directed by Margherita Spampinato, and Three Goodbyes, directed by Isabel Coixet, will introduce audiences to compelling contemporary Italian stories that explore, with sensitivity and depth, the encounters and tensions between generations, identities and different ways of living.
