TORONTO | MONTREAL

The 15th edition of the ICFF – Italian Contemporary Film Festival, running from June 25 to July 19, 2026, features for the first time in Canada Italian Screens, one of the most significant international initiatives dedicated to promoting Italian cinema worldwide. The section becomes a true driving force of the program, bringing to Toronto and Montreal a selection of seven films that portray contemporary Italy through diverse languages, genres, and sensibilities.
Italian Screens presents: The Grace by Paolo Sorrentino, Madly by Paolo Genovese, A Beautiful Day by Fabio De Luigi, Love in Separate Beds by Massimiliano Bruno, The Forbidden City by Gabriele Mainetti, The Tasters by Silvio Soldini, and Five Seconds by Paolo Virzì, offering Canadian audiences a rich, contemporary, and multifaceted perspective on Italian cinema today. Alongside this major new addition, the festival reaffirms its multidisciplinary vocation with projects that intertwine cinema, art, and culture. The dialogue between cinema and fashion takes center stage in the exhibition Fashion Frames: Where Style Becomes Cinema, curated by Stefano Dominella and realized in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Toronto. Opening with the festival village, the exhibition celebrates the connection between cinematic imagination and high fashion through iconic costumes created by maisons such as Valentino and Armani, alongside garments worn by screen legends such as Sophia Loren and Audrey Hepburn.
Significant attention is also given to ICFF Architecture & Design, which this year hosts Maria Claudia Clemente, architect and co-founder of the studio Labics, involved in the ambitious redevelopment project of the Colosseum area in Rome—one of the most important cultural urban interventions in the Italian capital. This focus further strengthens the festival’s role as an international platform for dialogue on creativity, urban space, and innovation.
Completing the program is a tribute to one of Italy’s design excellences: Pininfarina, featured in the documentary Story of a Legend: Pininfarina, produced by RAI Teche and Flair Media Production Srl.
Thanks also to official communication partner ROGERS, the Distillery Historic District once again transforms into a vast open-air cinema village, expanding its presence in the heart of the city and strengthening the dialogue between Italy and Canada through contemporary cinema.
