INDUSTRY@TALLINN & BALTIC EVENT

The International Department of Cinecittà, on behalf of the DGCA, organizes an Italian delegation to take part in the Film Market (November 18-21) within the Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event – a business and networking platform of primary importance in Northern Europe – that runs parallel to the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF).

Italy’s participation confirms its dynamic role in the global audiovisual market, with the aim of building ties with international partners, presenting new projects, and seizing co-production opportunities.

The film collaboration between Italy and the Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania) has received a significant boost in recent years, also facilitated by the possibility for Italian producers to access the fund for minority co-productions. This synergy, strengthened through meetings at major festivals and markets, is building a creative bridge between the Italian narrative tradition and the unique Baltic cinematic language.

At the heart of this collaboration is the Italo-Baltic Co-Production Development Award, born from an institutional agreement with the goal of supporting the development phase of quality cinematographic works from their earliest stages.

The event’s industry program is structured around several key areas:

  • Baltic Event Co-Production Market: Connects producers with potential partners and financiers.
  • Script Pool: Platform dedicated to the development and pitching of screenplays.
  • Works in Progress: Presentation of films and series in progress to attract completion funds, sales agents, or festival attention.
  • Project Pitches & One-to-One Meetings: Dedicated sessions where filmmakers pitch their projects directly to distributors, investors, and producers, with the goal of securing deals.
  • Masterclasses & Workshops: Led by established professionals.
  • Talent Labs: Programs such as Discovery Campus, designed for emerging filmmakers.
  • Just Film Industry Days: Specialized program dedicated to children’s and youth film.
  • TV Beats Forum: Forum dedicated to drama series.
  • Conferences: They explore the most current and pressing issues in the global film and television industry.
  • Black Market Industry Screenings: A curated selection of films from the Baltic States, Scandinavia, Central and Eastern Europe, and other regions, presented to international buyers and festival programmers.
