SCENARI TRANSALPINI
To foster the development of Italian-French co-productions, Institut français Italia, in collaboration with Cinecittà and with the support of Institut français, DGCA-MiC and CNC, and in partnership with MIA | International Audiovisual Market and Villa Medici – Académie de France à Rome, has launched SCENARI TRANSALPINI, a transnational workshop dedicated to the development of screenplays for audiovisual series.
Six projects have been selected, three initiated by Italian creators and three by French creators: THE CLAN OF MARSEILLES, by Alessandro Fabbri and Giorgio Gucci; LAKE COMO, by Hanna Ladoul and Marco La Via; O SOLE MIO, by Marguerite and Thérèse Quadrelli; SHADOW INVESTIGATIONS, by Giacomo Arrigoni; LA TERRA DEGLI ALTRI, by Elio and Chiara Cassaghi; and THE WHITE QUEEN, by Sara Loffredi and Alberto Ostini.
The programme consists of two phases: a workshop dedicated to project development and an official presentation as part of MIA. From 23 to 25 June, the selected writers took part in a workshop at Villa Medici, where, under the guidance of experienced mentors, they worked on the initial development of their screenplays. The projects will be presented on Wednesday, 8 October, at MIA as part of a Pitching Forum. The writers will also be available for B2B meetings on 8 and 9 October at Palazzo Barberini.
The mentoring team for the second edition of Scenari Transalpini brings together leading professionals from the Italian and international audiovisual industries: Elisa Amoruso (director and screenwriter), Morad Koufane (Head of Young Adult Fiction, France Télévisions), Margaux Balsan (Associate Producer, CAPA Drama), Daniel Campos Pavoncelli (Head of Film & TV, Indiana Production), Anna Nobi (Head of Development, Gaumont TV), Paolo Ciccarelli (Head of Drama, MIA), François-Pier Pelinard Lambert (Managing Director, Le Film français) and Marike Muselaers (VP International Financing & Co-productions, Nordisk Film Production).
